Announcing: Market Maker v.0.0.1

At long last, after two years of research and development, I have my Market Maker game in a state worth releasing. Mind you, it is no where near perfect, but it is very playable with very few known issues.

I have decided not to open the source code, but I am allowing anyone to play it for free if they register. To register, follow the directions in the game. (You send a single email and receive an unlock file.) Otherwise, unregistered copies will run for 20 minutes before shutting down.

Click here to download Market Maker

All you need to do is unzip the EXE then run it. It is a very clean install, and does not touch the registry, or any other folder other than its own. (It does add icons if you want, but they are cleanly removed on uninstall.)

BE SURE to read the help file under Help / Instructions. Also, please send all correspondence to the email mentioned in the game. Thanks!

Poker Dice... In Excel!

I tried to think of a game I could create in Excel without any VBA code at all, but was still at least slightly interesting.

I thought of the old Poker Dice game. You roll six dice, each of them have six cards printed on them; nine, ten, jack, queen, king and ace. You get paid an amount depending on the hand you get. (It's really closer to a slot machine than a poker game.)

I utilized Excel's circular references to mimic variables in a basic program, and the calculate option (F9) to 'pull the handle' so to speak.
